A collaboration with alcohol free craft brewery, Below Brew Co, who set a very open brief that allowed for a lot of creative freedom in this design, while working closely with the client to achieve a design that they were happy with. Incorporating the themes of the "Surreal" and "Puns" set by the client, I began working on a design that summed up my working methods of combining digital illustration and scanned textures to create a packaging illustration that still remained character and narrative focused. The piece itself expresses how I feel a cold can of beer is best enjoyed, under the setting sun after a good surf.
This design is part of the core range of beers and has been distributed in pubs, supermarkets and conventions all over the UK and beyond. It is a design that I am immensely proud of. The product itself can be ordered here.
This was a self set brief to completely redesign the album artwork for Slipknot's 2001 album 'Iowa'. I did this to challenge myself to apply my expressive mark making techniques and narrative/character driven skills for design purposes. I began by making sheets of marks and images that were driven and focused through the listening of the album and then digitally combined them to create several design ideas. I also created portraits of the 9 members of the band using this technique for artwork to be featured in the leaflet.
